Robin,

Thank you for what you wrote here... It really made me look at our financial situation differently. You said:
-- If your entire life is built around securing your own safety, what room is there for faith? Where are you allowing God to come in and do something miraculous for you? What if he’s desperate to show you just how big he is and what he can do for you, but you’re holding so tightly to the reins of your life that he never gets the chance? --

And, you're right. God has shown Himself to be very faithful, and He's always provided for us. Even when --especially when-- my husband lost his job due to a massive layoff, and then we lost our house and car to the bank because we just couldn't keep up. God provided a new house that had 3 bedrooms instead of 2, and put us closer to family than we were, and put us in town instead of out-in-the-boonies so that now I can walk to things and don't *need* a car. So, yeah... this struggling, too, is for a purpose. Always being "secure", financially, we would feel we were handling things fine, and we wouldn't *need* God to help us... but, struggling, we're always leaning on Him. ;) It brings Him glory.

So, thanks... I needed to read this today.

I know the feeling you're talking about Robin. You're right to trust God though, I wondered after we left full time ministry what God had planned for us. But the path He's led us on has been great and fulfilling. I'm looking forward to seeing how God is going to continue to use you, whatever you end up doing.
